PARENTING EDUCATION
Need to sharpen your skills as a Parent in these ever changing times? Our Parenting Education program offers education and resources to families with children. We provide support to parents and the community through quality and community specific parent education. We offer both class settings, as well as individual sessions.
This program is designed to present developmental information in an effort to help parents understand their child’s milestones, and help them to develop optimally through age appropriate activities and communications.
Classes will be held each Tuesday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm with a light dinner being served at 5pm.

ADOPTION
Our agency encourages open adoptions. We work with prospective adoptive couples who have a stable marriage of at least three years,
are practicing a religion, have one or no children, adequate housing and finances to care for a child. Make an appointment to find out
more about the criteria to adopt.
Couples wishing to adopt are screened and prepared for adoption through the home study process,
adoption education, and an adoption workshop. Adoption is right for some families and not for others. Through the adoption process,
we work with you to determine together whether adoption is right for you.
How long is the wait for a child? It is very difficult
to determine the amount of time families wait before a child is placed. The agency is responsible for preparing couples to adopt,
but cannot promise to provide babies for them.
We believe every form of adoption must center on meeting the needs of the adoptee.
PREGNANCY Maintenance
Pregnant? Worried about how you are going to manage? Do you feel you have no choices? You don't have to handle this alone.
We can explore real choices with you -- for yourself, for your child, for your future. Things to consider:
- Do you have a place to live?
- How will you support yourself?
- Have you completed your education?
- Will the baby's father provide assistance?
- Are you being pressured by others to make a decision?
- Are you old enough to care for a child?
- What goals do you have for the future?
- What dreams do you have for your child?
The Pregnancy Maintenance Initiative (PMI) can help you identify resources you may need, such as prenatal and post-natal medical care,
housing, education, adoption guidance, domestic abuse prevention, parenting classes, transportation, drug and alcohol assessment and treatment, and more.
Any Kansas girl or woman who finds herself in a crisis pregnancy and, after an assessment by a Pregnancy Maintenance Initiative (PMI) case manager,
is determined to be in need of services which will enable her to carry her pregnancy to term.

BOOT CAMP FOR NEW DADS
Boot Camp For New Dads is for expecting and new fathers. The program, created by the National Fatherhood Initiative, is a unique father-to-father,
community-based workshop that equips men of different economic levels, ages, and cultures to become involved with their infants, support their mates,
and navigate the ins and outs of fatherhood with confidence.
Boot Camp workshops include discussions centered on topics such as "Becoming a Dad",
"Forming a New Family", and "Caring for New Moms." New and prospective dads have a hands-on opportunity to become comfortable caring for babies,
under the guidance of veteran dads who demonstrate burping, changing, swaddling, and more. Workshops also provide a place for discussion between all the fathers,
featuring topics like work hours, safety, and dealing with relatives.
Each graduate of Boot Camp for New Dads adds an additional role model to his
family and community, and today's generation of young men is highly receptive to the example they set. Graduates often return as veterans to help the next class of new fathers.
